Odyssey Cruises Boston provides dinner cruises in Boston Harbor, typically departing from Rowes Wharf, and cruising from Castle Island to George's Island, then east to the Boston Light on Little Brewster Island, and back north to Charlestown Naval Yard before returning to the Wharf. They offer ceremony-only packages, as well as reception packages with four-course dinner menus.

Essex River Cruises & Charters has been offering cruises for weddings since 1992, cruising the pristine waters of the Essex River, 45 minutes north of Boston. They've hosted many weddings on board the boat, as well as at a secluded tidal beach, and offer many different catering options. Cruises are offered from May - October.

Boston Seaport Boat Charter is a private charter service with a fleet of two boats: the M/V Virginia C II, perfect for smaller weddings up to 100 guests; and the M/V Viking Starliner, well suited for weddings over 100 guests (capacity is 348 passengers). Both boats have an area for dancing. Boston Seaport Boat Charter offers an all-inclusive wedding package based on a per person rate of $38.00 to $48.00 per person (as of July, 2009).

Massachusetts Lighthouse Weddings

What could be more romantic than a lighthouse wedding? Okay, maybe a lighthouse wedding on Martha's Vineyard! There are actually three lighthouses on Martha's Vineyard which allow wedding ceremonies (no receptions, however). They are:

Gay Head Lighthouse
East Chop Lighthouse
Edgartown Lighthouse

The fee for the use of the lighthouses is $300 (as of July, 2009), and reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. The use of tents, portable toilets, or alcohol is prohibited. Massachusetts Resort Weddings

As you may imagine, Massachusetts has no shortage of first-class hotels, spas and resorts at which to have a wedding. Yes, weddings at resorts can be pricey, but, if you have the money, they're great places for larger weddings, particularly if they have spa services or golfing nearby to keep your guests occupied after your wedding. Do remember that if you have a wedding at a spa resort, it would be nice to create a page of activities at the resort or nearby to give to your guests.

For a spectacular beach setting, consider the Wychmere Harbor Beach & Tennis Club, where you can say "I Do" in a lovely outdoor setting overlooking Wychmere Harbor and Nantucket Sound. For receptions of up to 350 guests, they offer the Nantucket Room, which includes an outdoor patio and seaside dock. For smaller weddings of up to 100 guests, there is the more intimate Harbor Watch Room with a sweeping view of Nantucket Sound.
