Des Moines – The capital city of Iowa, Des Moines is filled with gorgeous Beaux Arts architecture and loads of cultural and historic attractions. The Jasper Winery is a popular wedding destination for wine lovers and can accommodate parties of up to 150. The Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel is a lovely venue for larger ceremonies. And animal lovers have the opportunity for a fun and unique wedding at the Blank Park Zoo.

Madison County – The 1995 movie The Bridges of Madison County and the book upon which it is based are favorites of hopeless romantics, and they generated lots of interest in getting married in this Iowa county. Madison County's covered bridges do make wonderful backdrops for a country wedding, and there’s no shortage of local vendors that can provide romantic touches, such as horse and carriage rides and bridge motif wedding favors.

You may also want to consider the Madison County Historical Society. Located on 18 acres, the Historical Society rents out its facilities for weddings and other events. These facilities include a museum, as well as The Zion Church, and a gazebo. The scenery is great year round, but Fall is particularly beautiful. However, if you book when the leaves are changing, expect an increase in traffic and tourists.

Cedar Rapids – Iowa’s second largest city is situated on the banks of the Cedar River. It is chock full of cultural attractions, including the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library, the Mother Mosque of America and the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. It also hosts a number of great wedding venues, such as A Touch of Class Banquet and Convention Center and the Avacentre at Brosh Chapel. Outdoor ceremonies may be held at one of twenty-one pavilions located in nine of the city’s beautiful parks.

Sioux City – Listed by Money magazine as one of the “Best Places to Live” in August 2010, Sioux City is also a wonderful place to get married. The Anderson Dance Pavilion, which is located on the city’s breathtaking Riverfront, is among the most popular venues in the area. But there are plenty of other fine wedding locations in the area, including the Grandview Bandshell, the Grandview Park Rose Garden and the Sioux City Country Club.
