One of the top 500 hotels in the world, according to Travel+Leisure Magazine, the Wild Dunes Resort sits on one of America's cleanest beaches (according to the Clean Beaches Council). Hilton Head Island

Upcountry of South Carolina

At 22,000 square ft., The Gassaway Mansion is the largest house in the Upcountry, and is listed on The National Register of Historic Places. Grand Strand of South Carolina
The Grand Strand refers to a large stretch of beaches extending from Calabash, North Carolina to Georgetown, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach is the major tourist attraction along the coast, attracting over ten million visitors each season. No wonder it's ranked number two in Yahoo Travel's "World's Best Beaches" list.

The Midlands of South Carolina
The Midlands roughly refers to an area in the middle of South Carolina, with Columbia the largest city.

Saluda Shoals Park

Saluda Shoals Park is a 350-acre regional park located along the banks of the Saluda River in Columbia, South Carolina. Although only open from May through August, if you want an outdoors wedding in a natural setting, this may be the place. You can rent their conference facilities, or rent one of the picnic shelters which can accommodate groups as small as 24 and as large as 144. The Olde English District of South Carolina
The Olde English District is located in upstate South Carolina, about halfway between Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC. Major cities include Lancaster and Camden. Camden is home to the Carolina Cup and known as “The Steeplechase Capital of the World.”

Kilburnie is set on historic Craig Farm located 3 miles north of Lancaster, SC, and is believed to be Lancaster's oldest surviving residence. They offer a lovely wedding pavilion supported by 20 white columns designed just for weddings. It can be extended with a tent to accommodate 150 guests.

The Greenleaf Inn of Camden consists of the 1890 Victorian McLean House and the 1805 Antebellum Reynolds House, both refurbished to retain their charms, but with added modern conveniences. They boast a foyer with 14-foot ceiling and original fireplace, graceful staircase and crystal chandelier. The Inn can accommodate 60 for a sit-down dinner, and provide you with a wedding director, as well as a notary who can marry you. As of this writing they are also offering a special wedding package for $2800 which includes the ceremony, reception and all 10 guestrooms and Friday and Saturday night.
