Oregon Wedding Locations

Oregon is such a beautiful state, with many outstanding locations for your Oregon destination wedding...where do we begin when suggesting spots to say "I do?"

Portland, City of the Roses

Portland's a great place to begin exploring Oregon wedding sites. Often called the "city of roses" due to its large number of rose gardens. In fact, a Rose Festival is held in Portland from the end of May through late June, just in case you're looking for a festive time of year for your wedding. While in Portland, do visit the International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park, which serves as a testing ground of sorts for new rose varieties.

Outdoor Weddings in Portland Parks

If an outdoor wedding appeals to you, you have over 180 parks, including Washington Park, that can be reserved for weddings and/or receptions, although do note that receptions cannot be scheduled in a wedding garden. Fabulous outdoor parks available for weddings include:

  • Portland Memory Garden
  • Washington Park Amphitheater
  • South Waterfront Park
  • Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden
Leach Botanical Gardens

Columbia River Gorge Weddings

Want some of the most breathtaking views as a backdrop for your wedding? Then you may want to consider the Columbia River Gorge area, which is located a few miles east of Portland. The Columbia River Gorge is an awesome river canyon cutting through the Cascade Mountain Range. It's 80 miles long and up to 4,000 feet deep; its north canyon walls are in Washington State, while the south canyon walls are in Oregon State.

Known as a spot for incredible windsurfing and hiking, the Columbia River Gorge is also home to Multnomah Falls, considered the most famous waterfall in Oregon.

A few wedding venues of note located in the Columbia River Gorge area include:

  • Balch Hotel in Dufur, Oregon
  • Quinn Mountain located along the Lewis & Clark Trail
  • Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler
Located just over an hour and a half east of Portland, the Balch Hotel is situated in Dufur, an area perfect for couples who enjoy outdoor fun. Dufur offers adventurous couples (and their guests) a host of activities, such as rafting, Nordic skiing, hiking and bicycling. For those who like their adventures more sedate, there's also nearby wineries and golfing.

For your wedding venue, the Balch Hotel can put together a wedding package to suit your needs, from one-day wedding packages to overnight accommodations for 36 guests. Packages include a choice of 4 wedding locations on their grounds, fantastic views of Mt. Hood, and a sunken flagstone patio which is great for dancing or a reception. Quinn Mountain is located along the Lewis and Clark Trail, just 30 minutes from Portland. They provide indoor as well as outdoor venues, and simple, inexpensive ceremonies, as well as more elaborate, custom wedding packages for up to 20 guests. Their outdoor venues include ceremonies in their garden, pavilion or meadow. They also offer off-site venues such as a secluded waterfall in the Columbia River Gorge.
